10 on Tuesday

1. More snow is on it's way! I feel like everybody else, I am OVER this whole Winter thing!
2. Colton came down with his first cold last week. We ended up going to the doctor last Thursday night for a nasty cough. But he seems to be doing much better now.
3. Speaking of Colton...he is sleeping through the night for real now! He started to a few weeks ago but then started waking up crying at like 4:00, but now he sleeps straight through from 7:15/7:30pm-6:00am.
4. Colton is "talking" like crazy now! He just coos up a storm. This morning he woke up talking to himself in his crib. He sounded like a little owl in there "ooo ooo oooo."
5. Chase is finally WANTING to sit on the potty now. It is no longer WWIII to get him to sit on the potty. In fact, tonight he had been sitting there for about 30 minutes and I finally had to persuade him to get up because it was past his bedtime. He really wanted a sticker!
6. Colton had his appointment with a pediatric surgeon on Monday and he will be having his surgery sometime this Spring it looks like. We are going to see how he does with eating cereal here in a few weeks and then go from there in deciding when to have it done. It will either be at 4 months or wait until he is 6 months. I'm nervous about him being put under while being so little, but she assured me that the risks are minimal and they take a lot of precautions when doing surgeries on little babies. She comes highly recommended, so I know he will be in good hands!
7. Colton and I will both be having surgeries this Spring. I will probably have to take off a couple of days when Colton has his surgery, and then my doctor said I will need to be out of work for two weeks. I'm going to try to wait to have mine in April. I still have another blood test to do, I'm just really dreading having to do it AGAIN. It is amazing how pushing out a baby can seem like a cake walk compared to having blood drawn. The doctor last week put a mirror inside of my voice box. That by far was the weirdest feeling ever. It didn't hurt at all, just felt funny. Gave me the willies to know what he was doing. ewwwwwww.
8. June needs to get here quickly. I am so ready for a vacation with the family! Chase's face just lights up when we talk about riding a train up a mountain. I can't wait to see his reaction when we get there.
9. Chase has learned a new phrase from his friends at school. It's "Oh shoot." He says it when he doesn't get his way. But when he says it is sounds more like "Oh S***." Another phrase we quickly nipped in the bud is "I going to kill you." He heard another little boy say it while playing with his super hero figurines and then tried it out on me and Kyle. We only told him once not to say it anymore and we haven't heard it since.
10. Who knew that taking a 2 year old to Office Depot would end in tears? I took Chase there with me and that boy DID NOT want to leave. He literally cried when I had to pick him up and carry him out of the store. Really? Office Depot?
11. Bonus this week! Congratulations to Curt and Kelsey who found out today that they are having another baby boy! I think it's so cool that Curt and Kyle both ended up having two boys. Oh the hunting trips that they are already planning in their heads! :)

10 on Tuesday

1. It's 2011! So hard to believe. We had a nice, relaxing New Year's. We went out to dinner with our boys and then we went home and watched a new Thomas the Train movie ( Chase's pick) and then I was in bed before 11:00.
2. Colton is cooing like crazy and has even laughed out loud a couple of times. He will be 3 months old this month. My how time flies!
3. I had to have some blood tests done yesterday, 6 tubes of blood were taken for 6 different tests. Some things have just been "off" lately so they want to check some stuff out. There is a spot in my throat they are looking at and I lost 35 pounds in less than 2 months without even trying and they think that is too fast, even after having a baby. Never mind the fact that I'm toting around 2 children now. That right there will make you lose weight! :) I should know the results by Friday. I hate waiting for stuff like that. They need to be faster about it! :)
4. Colton has a consultation with Dr. Susie Early (spelling?) this month, she is a Pediatric ENT. We are meeting with her about having Colton's tongue tie cut.
5. Chase is cracking me up more and more everyday. He was watching Polar Express tonight and when the train finally made it off of the ice he goes "That was waaaay too close!" I looked at Kyle and said "Where does he get this stuff?" and Chase looked at me all serious and said "I say that at Busy Bee's Mommy." Then on Sunday he was playing with one of Colton's toys and didn't want to give it back, so he offered Colton a toy gun that is like 3 feet long. It was way too cute! He probably figured that was a safe toy to offer knowing that Colton was incapable of playing with it.
6. Colton has mastered the pouty face. It breaks my heart everytime! I was buckling him in his carseat and I accidentally poked his nose with my finger and that bottom lip stuck out immediately! Brought tears to my eyes! Makes me wonder how people could abuse their children. There has to be something internally just screwed up with them. A pouty lip just does it for me and I melt.
7. We just got our tax stuff from daycare and it is amazing how much we spent on daycare this last year. And now we will be paying double that. It is sickening to think that we are spending about $1,000 a month in childcare.
8. I will admit that I am pretty excited about getting to claim another child on taxes this year! But Kyle also made a lot more this year, so I have a feeling that may end up hurting us and we won't get back as much. Taxes are just crap. Especially when I get my performance cash every year at work and the government taxes the heck out of it!! grrrrr.....
9. I was giving Chase a bath tonight and Colton was sitting in his bouncy seat in the bathroom. This is how our conversation went:
Chase: "Mommy, I want Colton to go."
Me: "You want Colton to leave the bathroom?"
Chase: "No, I want Colton to go home."
Me: "Home? This is his home. He lives here with you, mommy, and daddy."
Chase: He gets this silly face and looks at me like I'm crazy and says "Nooooooo. Colton's home is at Doctor."
Poor Chase thinks that Colton is just visiting and he actually lives at the hospital where we found him.
10. I had a dream last night that my 13 year old niece was dating Justin Bieber. Yes, he is only 16. But he such a cutie! If I was a 13 year old girl, I would have Bieber Fever! :)
